Nief-Norf is kicking off this year’s giving season, on November 27, 2018 by participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and celebrate generosity worldwide.

Nief-Norf will be raising funds for our Summer Festival using Facebook’s Charitable Giving Tools, which will be matching up to $7 million in donations with PayPal for registered nonprofits starting on November 27, at 5 a.m. PST or 8 a.m. EST on Giving Tuesday until the match runs out. This is a first come, first served offer for all registered nonprofits on Facebook and although the match will be competitive, we are reaching out to all of our supporters to participate in this annual celebration of giving.

To make a contribution and help us get the match, click the Facebook link and make a donation on our page on November 27, starting at 5am PST or 8am EST.

Your gift to Nief-Norf can go twice as far this Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 8 a.m. EST

Donations made on Giving Tuesday support scholarships for exemplary nnSF Fellows and need-based applicants. In the past, donations to Nief-Norf have helped to support an exciting roster of Guest Artists. This year, we're thrilled be welcoming 2019 nnSF Guest Composers Sarah Kirkland Snider and Alexandre Lunsqui.

In addition, our 2019 Research Summit "Genre Lines" will feature a Keynote by Wadada Leo Smith and week-long residency by clarinetist and composer James Falzone. By supporting Nief-Norf and helping to fund nnSF scholarships, your donations serve to expand access to the festival and help support new music in Knoxville.

Your gift helps make special performances possible!

Please enjoy this video of us performing Evan Ziporyn’s Aneh Tapi Nyata at the Summer Festival in 2018, which would not have been possible without donor support. This performance of Aneh Tapi Nyata was the first performance in 20 years due to its unique (and large) instrumentation. Your gift helps make special performances like this possible! In order to make this year’s festival a success, Nief-Norf needs to reach the goal of $5,000 by the end of 2018. Please help us keep the momentum going and consider making a tax deductible donation. Nief-Norf thanks you in advance of your donation and your support of contemporary music!
